Job Description
The Potomac Valley Academy Daycare & Preschool (PVADP) provides low-cost, high quality comprehensive childcare services to children and families. The center is focused on the care, spiritual and educational needs of preschool children ages infant through five. The center offers year-round day-care Monday - Friday, 6:30 am – 6:30 pm.
Position Description: This position is a full time (40 hour) position, responsible for working with the Director to administer operations, promote development and build community relationships.  Typical hours for this position are 7 am – 4pm with a one-hour break.  Overtime is at the demand of the Academy.
  • Greets and monitors parents, government officials & visitors
  • Answers telephone calls, takes messages & relays information as needed.
  • Creates and coordinates a variety of administrative systems
    • Including but not limited to:
      • Organization of enrollment files
        • Verification of completeness of child files
      • Organization of employment files
        • Verification of completeness of employment files
      • Maintaining organization of:
        • Teacher Resource library
        • Art supplies
        • Office supplies
        • Curriculum Classroom Library
        • Classroom supplies
        • Snack Inventory
  • Works with all aspects of the organization's data management including: financial, church staff, community volunteers, administrative, program areas and performance monitoring.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to be flexible, conscientious and creative.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks: Daily, Weekly, Monthly
  • Performs computer tasks (word processing, data entry, spreadsheets and email) in a timely manner.
    • Including but not limited to:
      • Child Enrollment tracking & attendance
      • Tuition
      • Creates monthly snack menus
      • Knowledge and ability to operate ProCare software a plus!
      • Use of Microsoft programs, i.e, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Maintains snack supply inventory
    • Develop monthly snack menu
    • Requests monthly snack and supply order
    • Organizes and stocks snacks and supplies
    • Receives supply requests from teachers and provides supplies weekly
  • Schedules classroom tours.
  • Contributes to PVADP's public relations efforts.
  • Supports the Director in networking efforts.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of PVADP's overall vision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Assists teacher's with administrative duties.
  • Assists in planning & set-up of monthly staff meeting.
  • Assists in classrooms as needed.
  • Must be able to lift infants and/or young children.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 25#.
  • Must be physically able to get up and down from floor.
  • Must be able to sit and stand within short periods of time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
